SquareHue The Adventure Collection: Museum Hop Paris | November 2016

SquareHue is a nail polish subscription where you can receive either 3 full size polishes a month for $21 or 2 polishes for $16 a month, depending on your preference. Every month, I am pleasantly surprised with the color variety that is always spot on with the theme of the year/month. With every subscription, a portion of the proceeds are contributed to prevention awareness of human trafficking.

I really love every single color in this month’s box! My favorite is Pompidou. It is a coppery brown holographic polish. This is my favorite because of the holographic finish. I try to get a holographic polish in every Julep box because I just loveee how the polish makes it look like you have a galaxy on your nails. It’s so sparkly and just amazing!

Louvre is a beautiful matte gray. I am excited about this color because I love gray nail polishes, it’s a matte finish which is super on trend currently, and I don’t think I’ve ever used a matte polish before.

The third color is also super on trend! It is called d’Orsay and it has a high gloss creme finish. Peach tones are all the hype, so I’m not surprised to see this shade in this month’s box. I love the way it looks on the nail wheel, I can’t say whether or not I’ll love it on my hands though. We shall find out soon enough!

Louvre and d’Orsay are opaque in two coats. It took 3 coats for Pompidou to become opaque.

Aren’t they beautiful??

SquareHue The Adventure Collection: Gondola Venice | October 2016

Ahhhh!!!! My favorite monthly subscription box is here! I am so excited to review this box again! My last review was in March, so it’s been a while! For those who don’t know, SquareHue is a nail polish subscription where you can receive either 3 full size polishes a month for $21 or 2 polishes for $16 a month, depending on your preference. Every month, I am pleasantly surprised with the color variety that is always spot on with the theme of the year/month. With every subscription, a portion of the proceeds are contributed to prevention awareness of human trafficking.

Okay, now that we have the business out of the way, let’s talk about nail polishhhh!!!! Fall is officially here and SquareHue is fully aware of that from the shades in this box. If you followed my blog earlier this year, you know that each box this year fit in with the overarching adventure theme and the colors chosen matched that individual location theme. The theme for this month is “Gondola Venice.” I’ve never been to Venice, Italy, but it’s definitely on my bucket list to visit soon! As you can see from the picture on the card included with the box below, every color in the box was pulled from the picture!

My favorite polish in this box is called Santa Marie del Giglio. It is a mushroom grey shade and a perfect neutral for the cooler months. This polish has a high gloss creme finish. Next up we have a gorgeous berry red shade called Campo San Moise! I love any shade of red, whether its for my nails or my lip! So, I’m definitely excited to have a red in this box! My least favorite color in this box is Canal Grande. It is a teal shade with what looks like blue, silver, and maybe purple shimmer. The only reason I’m not super excited about this shade is because I feel like there has been a shade of blue in half of the boxes this year! Lol! Either way, I will still wear it at some point!

What’s your favorite nail polish in this box? Do you think I should giveaway a gift subscription to SquareHue? Let me know in the comments!

Nails of the Week | Alaina by Julep

I love this nail polish! I received Alaina in my February Julep box! It is a beautiful taupe shade. It is described as “driftwood taupe creme.” It puts a different spin on a nude polish! Even though it’s warming up, I’m not quite ready to pull out my bright polishes, so this is the perfect transition color for me.

Nails of the Week | Mambo by SquareHue

This polish was in the Decades Collection: 1940 box. I reviewed the box here. I really like this burnt orange color that Mambo gives me. In the bottle, it looked much darker than it actually does on my hands. It is the perfect transition color from winter to spring or summer to fall.  Of course, as with every SquareHue polish, it lasted for days without ever chipping. I’m a loyal SquareHueist (you like what I did there? lol) and I think you should be too! Click here to subscribe!

SquareHue Decades Collection: 1940s Review

A few weeks ago, SquareHue had a BOGO free sale on their website. Every time they have a sale, I have to indulge. I am trying to get all of their past boxes that came out before I subscribed. I purchased the 1940s box from the Decades Collection as well as the SYDNEY box from the Passport Collection. I will review the second one at a later date.

The 1940s box excited me because I absolutely loved the royal blue metallic polish included in this box. The other colors were winners too! But, the royal blue polish had me SOLD! The colors included in this box are Sorcerer’s Hat 1940 (stunning royal blue shimmer), War Hero 1945 (warm mustard yellow creme gloss), and Mambo (burnt orange (brick) creme gloss). After swatching each color, I am actually excited to try them all! Of course, I will either write a quick blog post for the colors when I wear them or post them to my Instagram page, so make sure you are following me! 🙂

Nails of the Week | Finley by Julep

This is another nail polish that I am in love with! I received it in my February Julep subscription box. This color is called Finley. It is a smokey navy creme color. It is so beautiful! The polish applied very smoothly and it lasted for 4 or 5 days without chipping. All of Julep’s polishes are of good quality which is why I am still subscribed to them. I am trying to get all of my dark colors out of the way because spring is quickly approaching and it will be time for my brighter colors and pastels, which I am excited about pulling out!

Nails of the Week | That’s My Jam by Color Club

I received this nail polish in my Birchbox this month. I was really excited to try it because when I swatched the color it was a very nice berry shade. A mixture of red and pink depending on the light. However, when I actually applied it on my nails, it was more red than anything. I couldn’t pick up the pink no matter what lighting I was in. The color applied with a jelly like formula, which I kind of liked. It was different for me because most of my polishes are either a creme formula or a glitter formula. This formula does last. It lasted for the 5 days that I wore it without chipping. I also used a gold nail wrap from Julep on my accent nail. The nail wrap didn’t last that long before it started to peel. But, I still thought it was cute! Click here if you would like to purchase this polish for $8.50!

Nails of the Week | I’m Kind of a Big Deal by Trust Fund Beauty

I am not a big fan of anything pink to be honest. But, I received this nail polish in my February ipsy glam bag and actually kind of liked it. It wasn’t a bright pink or a pastel pink which are my least favorite shades of pink. Ick! It was a dusty rose color, which had me pretty much sold and looking forward to trying the color out. I had never heard of Trust Fund Beauty, and because of that, I was even more excited about trying this polish out.

The name of this color is “I’m Kind of a Big Deal.” The quality of this polish is really good, which is always a great thing. It lasted 5 days without chipping at all! It applied a little thick, but was still easy to apply. The color was fully opaque after two coats. I could’ve honestly gotten away with just applying one coat. I’m just a two coat kind of girl.

After applying the polish, I wasn’t sure if I really liked it on my nails. It seemed a little brighter than what I thought it would be. But, after a day of having it, I was ABSOLUTELY in love! Every time I look down at my nails, I get a feeling of pure satisfaction internally. I am actually sad about having to change my nail color.

This polish sells for $15. Click here to purchase. I’ll be trying out some new colors in the future…and maybe some of their lipsticks too!

Nails of the Week | Joss by Julep

OMG!!! I am so in love with this color! I didn’t think the duochrome effect would really work, but it actually does and it is AMAZING!! When the light catches this polish, it turns from a fig purple to real green. It is so gorgeous! Too bad I couldn’t pick up the effect in the photos. 😦 The only thing I didn’t like about this polish is that it started fading around the edge of my nails after 3 days or so…but for this color, it is totally worth it!

I am definitely going to try more polishes with the duochrome effect in my future Julep boxes! Click here to purchase this polish for $14.00 or $11.20 if you are a Maven.
