Nails of the Week | Keiko by Julep

This past week I went with Julep Bombshell in Keiko. It is described as a “charred olive shimmer.”  Honestly, I never saw any green in this polish. It really just looked like a very dark gray. Nonetheless, I still loved the color! I love dark polishes this time of the year. However, I would have loved to have seen some green. It would have been a pleasant surprise. Normally I get really good wear out of my Julep polishes, but for some reason, this polish kind of chipped around the tips of my nails after 2 days of wear. That kind of bummed me out…but it won’t keep me from wearing Julep brand polishes in the future. If you would like to purchase this polish, click here. It sells for $14.

Julep Bombshell in Margot Review

I feel like I have been doing a lot of lipstick and beauty product reviews lately and have been neglecting my beloved nail polishes (outside of my nails of the week posts)…which is a little odd since nail polish is a focus of my blog. No worries, I will find a healthy balance to ensure that I am providing my honest reviews of all things lippies, nails, and beauty in the future.

With that being said, I am going to share with you all my thoughts on the nail polish I chose to get me in the Thanksgiving spirit a couple of weeks ago! I decided to go with Julep Bombshell in Margot. I received it in my Julep subscription box either in October or November. However, it sells for $14.00. Click here to be taken to the product page. The polish is a very beautiful shimmery gold. On the website it is described as an old Hollywood gold shimmer. Something about the gold made me think fall and turkeys! Lol! Anyway, the polish is of great quality. It’s a “5-free, vegan-friendly formula that also includes strengthening Hexanal and antioxidant green coffee extract.” I wore it for 5 days and there was no chipping or fading of the polish. I was a little concerned that removal would be difficult because sometimes nail polishes with this kind of shimmer may really be glitter, which can make it hard to remove it. However, it was like removing a regular nail polish. I didn’t have to do any extra scrubbing or anything. I used a non-acetone remover on cotton balls and the polish came right off. Next time I’m in a golden mood, I will definitely pull this color out! Check out a picture of my nails below!
