Simple Fall Makeup Look

I loved my makeup so much the other day that I felt like dedicating an entire post to breakdown my look! I think it’s a very simple, but beautiful, fall look. In general, I like for my makeup to be very natural and I do not like to use a lot of cosmetic products on my face. Alright, let’s see what I used:

Aquaphor to moisturize

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Amande under my eyes, around my nose, and around my mouth

Lorac TANtalizer Baked Bronzer on cheekbones

Ofra Cosmetics Universal Brow Pencil

ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadows in Nillionaire and Stereo

Julep When Pencil Met Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black

Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Blacquer 42 on waterline

Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil in Love Affair | Review + Swatches

Eyeliner is definitely a daily go to for me, so I’m always excited when I come across a new eyeliner. I received the Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof Eyeliner in my August Play! by Sephora subscription box. (Sidenote: Is anybody subscribed to this box? If so, let me know your thoughts in the comments!)

I was excited to receive this eyeliner because I never venture out to colored eyeliners. I stick to jet black. Receiving this in my box gave me a reason to try something new and step outside of my eyeliner comfort zone. What better way to step outside of my comfort zone than with a shimmery purple eyeliner? Or was it? Let’s keep reading…

Okay, according to the packaging, Love Affair is a plum shade. Plum is one of my favorite colors which heightened my interest to try this product out. I do not know if I am sold on this eyeliner or not because when I applied it to my eyes, the color was not as rich as I thought it would be. It was no where near as vibrant on my eyes as it was on the back of my hand. On my eyes, it looked like a muted purple. I don’t know if my eyes had a little moisutrizer on them before I applied the eyeliner or what the deal was. What I do know is that it didn’t live up to my expectations.

I’ll probably give this eyeliner another try a few months down the road and see if I feel differently about it. As of right now, I’m glad this isn’t a product I spent my own money on just to be disappointed in the end.

Have you tried any of the Sephora Collection eyeliners? If so, what were your thoughts?

Julep Maven Unboxing | October 2016

I’m backkkk!!! Did you all miss me? I certainly missed all of my followers! ❤ I took a mini hiatus to live a little and fully enjoy my spring and summer. No worries, I am officially back with new posts anddddd….a GIVEAWAY!!! To enter the giveaway, head over to my Instagram account and find the post for the Studio 1400 Super Shock Eyeshadow Set by ColourPop. In the meantime, lets discuss Julep!

If you kept up with my blog before my break, you know that Julep is one of my favorite subscriptions. I love it because you can choose exactly what products you want in your box each month. I have a 3 month recurring subscription where I am charged $63 every 3 months. It’s been well worth the money and I do not see myself cancelling this subscription anytime soon.

Alright, so let’s see what all I chose for my box this month! I chose two nail polishes and an eyeliner. I also decided to add on an eyeshadow stick to get rid of some of the Jules (reward points) I have accumulated. Julep also added a surprise nail polish for free in every box this month! 🙂

*If you would like to subscribe to Julep, click here to use my referral link.*

Nail Polish in Gladys (It Girl), $14.00

This nail polish is everything! It’s a midnight blue with a shimmery finish. Absolutely stunning! It is perfect for the colder months ahead of us!

Nail Polish in Ebony (It Girl), $14.00

This nail polish is the reason I love Julep. Julep has the best holographic nail polishes ever! Every month I try to purchase one with the holographic effect because it’s just so cool! It’s a graphite base with multi colored glitter. It literally looks like a galaxy on your nails and that’s what makes me loooovvveeee it!

Left to right: Ebony, Gladys, Gladys with Desiree as a top coat

Fluid Eye Glider, $20.00

So, I love a good liquid eyeliner that’ll give me a nice wing or cat eye. I have been in the process of trying to find another good liquid eyeliner because they’re my favorite to use when I am going out. I have been obsessed with using this one from Je Beau Cosmetics. I reviewed it here a few months ago.

But anyway, I decided to add this one to my box this month and I am glad I did! The felt tip makes it easy to apply thin or thick lines. This eyeliner is jet black and water resistant, which is a definite plus. Nobody wants their eyeliner running down their face.

Eyeshadow 101 Stick in Champagne Shimmer, $18.00

I chose to add this product to my box because: 1. it is an eyeshadow stick and I have never used one before; and 2. I thought it would be perfect to apply eyeshadow to my water line and inner corners.

The shadow is creme-to-powder formula and it is waterproof. Since it is a creme formula at first, it applies very smoothly. Champagne Shimmer is described as a “sun-kissed champagne shimmer.” It’s weird that they used the name of the color in the description. Lol! But, I guess that was the best description to fit the color, as you can see from the swatch below. One end of the stick is the shadow and the other end is a smudger. The product boasts having stay-all-day power and being crease proof.

Also, if champagne isn’t your color, it comes in 11 other shades.

Nail Polish in Desiree (It Girl), $14.00

This was a wonderful surprise in my box this month! Desiree is a clear top coat with a high gloss holographic shimmer! This polish instantly transforms any regular nail polish to a holographic finish! So now I can turn my favorite nail polishes into something completely different and I’m definitely excited about doing that!

Je Beau International Cosmetics Review + Swatches

*Although the products used in this review were provided by Je Beau International, the thoughts and opinions set forth in this article are solely mine and are 100% honest*

Recently, the founder of Je Beau International reached out to me and requested that I try out some of her company’s products. I happily obliged! I love trying new products, especially from brands that are not as mainstream, and introducing them to my followers!

Je Beau International in Beverly Hills, California, has a line of beauty products representing Hollywood Glamour with more than 100 celebrities using our products, as well as the everyday consumer. Je Beau International introduces only the finest ingredients in all of our luxurious products to bring out your true beauty.

Backed by more than 25 years of experience, our products transport you into a world of luxury and fashion by enhancing your unique style. Je Beau’s president, Julie Beauchesne, believes “Beauty and Glamour are possessed by all. And when you look your best, you will achieve your greatest.”

-Je Beau International

In the look below, I tried out several products from Je Beau. I tried out their luxurious lipstick, mascara, and eyeliner. They also sent me a lip liner. I did not use it in this look because I didn’t want it to take away from the lipstick, but I did swatch it below. Scroll down below to read my review of each product.

Luxurious Lipstick in Legendary, $18.00

I really loved this lipstick. It is a red shade with a little shimmer to it. It is not a true red, at least not on my complexion. But, it is a very pretty red. It is like a coppery red. It’s a nice change up to my everyday red lipsticks. The lipstick applied very smooth and lasted for hours. It was very moisturizing, with a very satiny feel. The lip color was also very pigmented. I definitely look forward to trying some other lipstick shades. It comes in 13 other shades.

Cat Eye Liquid Eyeliner Pen, $18.00

If you keep up with my blog, you know how much I love eyeliners! This eyeliner has a black felt tip. It applies super smooth and easily. The thickness of the pen helped make the application easy. The line came out very smooth and dried a matte black. It created a perfect winged look. I will be adding this to my rotation for nighttime eyeliners.

Movie Eyes Mascara, $20.00

I do not wear mascara too often, but I did notice a difference in my lashes after applying this mascara. This mascara added a lot of volume and lengthened my lashes. It is a smudgeproof and waterproof formula, so I had to really scrub with my makeup remover wipes to remove it. It is also a sensitive eye formula, so it does not irritate your eyes the way other mascaras may.

Luxury Lip Liner in Vermouth, $16.00

I do not use colored lip liners very often, unless I am creating an ombre look. I mainly stick to clear lip liners. But, if you are a fan of colored lip liners, I think that this one is nice. It applied smoothly and the color payoff was great. It would look nice paired with the lipstick in this review. It is a pencil lip liner, so you will need a sharpener if you purchase. This lip liner comes in 3 other colors.

Overall, I am a fan of this brand. I do find some of their products to be a bit pricey. However, the quality is really good, which makes paying the additional money worth it. I would definitely recommend the lipstick and eyeliner, as they were my favorites. Head over to their website and check out all of the other amazing beauty products they offer! Also, like their Facebook page; follow them on Instagram; and follow them on Twitter.

What are your thoughts on these products? Will you try this brand out? Let me know in the comments!

January Beauty Favorites!

It’s that time again for me to share with you my favorite products from the month of January. If you keep up with my blog, none of these products will be new to you because I have reviewed them all at some point this month.

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Bauhau5, $21.00

I received this lipstick in the Studded X: 3 Mini Lip + 3 Nail Duo from Sephora. This was my favorite lipstick out of the set! This particular color is actually a cult favorite and it is a matte deep raspberry. This color can be worn year round and will look great on any skin tone! This lipstick is a tad drying, so you have to prime your lips first. But, it lasts for hours! I had it on for about four hours and then ate lunch and it still barely faded, which definitely makes this a long lasting lipstick!

Julep When Pencil Met Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black, $16.00

I have literally been wearing this eyeliner every single day since I received my Julep box this month! I love how black it is and I love how long it lasts! It lasts all day without fading. I have noticed that my winged tips rub off by the end of the day. But, I’m sure that is because at some point I rub my eyes and don’t even realize it. Lol! Click here to see what other awesome products I received in my box in January!

ColourPop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in Jonesing, $5.00

I FINALLY got around to trying out some of ColourPop’s lippies and I am kicking myself for waiting so long! I loved this color! It is a deep cranberry and it is so beautiful on! The formula is also amazing! It is very moisturizing and stays on for a few hours or until you eat! Click here to see what other lippies I purchased from ColourPop!

Eyeko Fat Liquid Eyeliner, $16.00

This was clearly the month for eyeliners because I was blessed with two awesome ones! I received this eyeliner in my Birchbox this month. I love the wet look this eyeliner has once it dries. I also can appreciate the marker like applicator and thickness of the tube because they make applying the eyeliner extremely easy. Also, because the tip is pointed, but thick, you can create a thin line or thick line depending on what look you are going for.

OFRA Cosmetics Universal Eyebrow Pencil $13.00

Left: with eyebrow pencil; Right: without eyebrow pencil

This eyebrow pencil was in my ipsy Glam Bag this month. I really liked the quality of this pencil. It is a universal pencil which means it works for any eyebrow color. The more you apply, the darker it gets. I beleive this will replace my go to eyebrow gel from Benefit Cosmetics, because I’ve been using it every single day since I received my ipsy bag! Lol!

ipsy Glam Bag Review + Swatches | January 2016

After seeing the December Glam Bag, I was super excited to resubscribe to ipsy! I was subscribed several months and received 3 or 4 bags, but I didn’t like the products I was receiving, so I cancelled the subscription.

After seeing the last two glam bags, I thought to myself that I should give it another shot. And for only $10 a month, what could it possibly hurt? I cannot say that I am glad I did at this point. This first bag was a little underwhelming to be honest. That’s probably only because I was hoping to get at least ONE lipstick and I didn’t get one. However, the bag itself was really cute! I loved the “All Eyes on Me” theme and the bag fit perfectly within that theme! The bag made me think Andy Warhol and pop art!

I will give it to ipsy. They introduced me to five brands that I have never heard of before this month, which I’m sure is a goal of theirs. All of the products were full size except for the cleansing cloths, which would make this bag worth $61.94. Awesome deal when I only paid $10 for the bag. Click here if you would like to subscribe to your own ipsy bag!

Well, let’s see what I received in my bag!

Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths | 30 ct, $15.00

First up were the cleansing cloths. The cloths did the job they were supposed to do…I was just kind of disappointed to receive these in my bag because there’s nothing exciting about cleansing cloths. LOL! And for the price, I can just stick to my Neutrogena makeup remover wipes that I have been using for years now. However, I will still use these until I run out. lol!

OFRA Cosmetics Universal Eyebrow Pencil | Full size, $13.00

Left: with eyebrow pencil; Right: without eyebrow pencil

This was my favorite product in the bag! I wasn’t really feeling it when I saw it in my bag because I have been using Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Gel, which I absolutely love. Click here for my review of it. But, this pencil really filled my eyebrows in beautifully! There was a distinct difference in my eyebrows, which you can see in the picture. Since this is a universal brow pencil, the color is buildable. The more you apply, the darker it gets. It truly works wonders. I would definitely recommend this pencil!

theBALM Cosmetics Mr. Write (Now) Eyeliner Pencil in Jack B. Bronze | Full size, $17.00

I only wear black eyeliner. But, this eyeliner will give me a chance to step out of my comfort zone. It is a bronze color, so I do not really know if it will show up well on my skin tone, because it barely showed up when I swatched it on my hand. As soon as I can figure out where I can wear this to, I will try it out.

Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Curl Mascara | Full size, $21.95

I do not wear mascara often, but I do like to try out different brands just to see how they work. I feel like this mascara did not make a difference in the look of my lashes at all. They looked the exact same before and after, which means it is a pointless product. Lol! I also did not like that this product was not waterproof. My eyes watered a little and it smeared under my eyes…not a good look. I definitely will not be using this product.

J. Cat Beauty Blinkie Shimmer Eyeshadow in Tangerine Light (BES02) | Full size, $4.99

I really do not wear eyeshadow often. However, I really liked this color. It was very pretty and shimmery. I also liked how smooth the formula was. I swatched it on my hand and once I removed it, a little of the shimmer was left over. I will have to wear it to see if it stays put…I’ll keep you all posted on this!

Overall, I do have a couple of products that I can and will use in the future, including the wipes. I will stay subscribed and see how my next couple of bags are. If I am still somewhat disappointed, I will have to cancel this subscription again.

What did you think of my ipsy bag this month? Let me know in the comments!

Julep Maven Time! What’s in My Box? | January 2016

What time is it!?! Julep Time!!! I am really excited about my box this month! I picked out some really awesome products and even got a sweet treat this month! I won’t bore you with a lot of background about the box, but click here to subscribe to your own box for $24.99 a month, or $59.98 for a 3 month subscription. The total value for my box this month was $75, including the add-on I purchased with my Jules. You earn Jules for every box you receive and can spend them on products in the online shop.

Now, for the fun part! Let’s see what products I received!

It’s Whipped Matte Lip Mousse in XOXO, $20.00

Last month, I chose this lip mousse in Smooch and I loved the quality of it so much that I had to get another color in my box this month! The color I chose this time was XOXO. It is a shade of fuchsia. However, it is too pink for me and, in my opinion, is not very flattering on my complexion. It would look much better on fairer skin tones.

When Pencil Met Gel in Blackest Black, $16.00

Soooooo I think I may have found a new eyeliner! I have been a faithful user of MAC’s ProLongwear Eyeliner for a while now. It goes on smooth and is a nice black and I thought I was in love with it…until this one entered my life! I thought my MAC eyeliner went on smooth…this one just GLIDES on! It feels like butter being applied! The black is super pigmented, unlike the MAC eyeliner and it literally stayed on all day! It didn’t fade at all! I really think I will have to switch over to this eyeliner and I’ll save $5 every time it is time to replace eyeliner, which is an added bonus! Who doesn’t like to save money on a product that is even better than their go to???? Definite win!

Nail Color in Joss, $14.00

I absolutely love this nail color! It is described as a “ripe fig duochrome” on the website.I love nail polishes that give off the iridescent effect and this one has that effect. It’s such a pretty purple with a greenish duochrome. I wish I could’ve picked up the duochrome effect in the picture. No matter how I turned the camera or the lighting I used, I could not pick it up! Anyway, I think I may wear this polish within the next couple of weeks!

Break the Ice Trio, $24.99

Top to bottom: Primp, Charm, Mingle

I have been eyeing this trio since before the holidays. I thought I would possibly use it as a gift for a giveaway on my Instagram page, but I decided to just purchase it for myself. I think the colors are really fitting for the cooler months that we are currently in. The three colors included are Primp (marsala creme), Charm (festive fuchsia creme), and Mingle (mulled wine creme). My favorite color in the box is Charm. It looks so good on my complexion! I will be wearing this color very often in the coming months! Mingle is my second favorite. I always love shades of red because you can usually never go wrong with a red lip. As you can tell from the pictures, Primp is definitely not my color. It is wayyyyy too light for my skin tone. I will NEVER wear this one! LOL! Also, the tubes these mini lipsticks come in are so upscale! They are packaged in silver plated lipstick tubes! I definitely wasn’t expecting that which makes me excited to pull these lipsticks out to refresh my lip color! LOL!

What do you think about the products I received in my box this month? Let me know in the comments!
