If you wear lipstick often then you know how imperative it is to keep your lips exfoliated. I you don’t, you may end up with unevenly applied lipstick. Or if you wear lipstick often, you may have to keep them exfoliated because your lips may peel more than if you don’t wear lipstick often. So, to get an even application and to help lock in moisture, you will need to exfoliate. In this post, I am going to give you my top three lip exfoliators from Mary Kay, e.l.f Cosmetics, and MBA Cosmetics.
Satin Lips Lip Mask by Mary Kay, $10
The first lip exfoliator I ever used was the Satin Lips Exfoliator by Mary Kay. I actually still use it from time to time. This one comes in a tube that you squeeze onto your lips, rub your lips together, let it sit for a couple of minutes, then wipe it off with a tissue. I really enjoy this exfoliator and I think it works the best out of the three because it has the longest lasting results. For me, that is about 4-5 days after daily lipstick wear. You can also purchase this product in a set with the lip balm for $18. I am not a fan of the lip balm because, in my opinion, it is not moisturizing at all. It disappears from my lips within minutes. Sweet Kisses Lip Scrub in Pink Sugar Rush, $3.50
This is the second exfoliator I started using. It is a sugar scrub and it’s so sweet that I can barely keep it on my lips long enough to remove the dry skin. This lip scrub comes in a small jar. You have to apply the product with your fingertip. I rub it across my lips, let it sit for a minute and then wipe it off with my tissue. I do not use this one very often because I do not think it works that well. But, for $3.50, I can’t really complain and the taste is pretty awesome! It also comes in several other flavors!
e.l.f. Cosmetics Lip Exfoliator, $3
So, what I LOVE about this exfoliator is that it comes in a traditional lipstick tube and you apply it just like you would a regular lipstick. To apply, you have to dampen your lips, massage the product in in a circular motion, and then remove it with a damp cotton ball/pad or tissue. This product works pretty well. The results are not as long lasting as Satin Lips, but it’s good for when you are on the run.
