Fall Edit by ColourPop Review + Swatches

I know, I know! I’m obsessed with ColourPop! How can one not be obsessed though!?! The brand is super affordable and the products are high quality! They are constantly releasing new products (almost weekly) and every product they release is a must have!

A little over a month ago, ColourPop started their Fall Edit collection with tons of new lippies and shadows! So of course, I had to add some new lippies to my collection! I purchased 4 (Viper, Love Bug, Baracuda, and Mama).

3 of the 4 of the lippies are the ultra matte formula. The fourth lippie is an ultra satin. I’ll describe this formula when I talk about that shade. Anyway, the ultra matte applies liquid and dry matte. The matte formula lasts all day without fading too much. The only issue is after about 6 hours of wear, your lips begin to feel dry. When that happens, I just apply a little chapstick and the dryness goes away and the color is still vivid!

Left to right: Viper, Barracude, Love Bug, Mama

Ultra Matte Lip in Viper, $6.00

This is actually my least favorite shade out of the group. It is a much lighter  pink than I expected it to be and much lighter than the swatch on my forearm. It’s supposed to be a dusty rose, but on my skin tone, it just looks pink. LOL! One of my friends suggested that I line my lips with a darker color, maybe plum, and blend it with the lip color. So I will try that out and see if the color grows on me.

Ultra Satin Lip in Baracuda, $6.00

Barracuda is an ultra satin formula. It applies very smooth and soft on your lips. It is longwearing, however, it is not completely smudge proof. Baracuda is more of a dusty rose color in my opinion, and for me, more wearable. I actually think this one may be my favorite!

Ultra Matte Lip in Love Bug, $6.00

Love Bug is another shade that I like! It’s almost a nude on my lips which makes this a color I will wear when I do not want to really look like I am wearing lipstick. I will also use this shade to darken my lip colors. I applied it on top of Mama the other day and I loved the way it looked! I may actually be able to apply it on top of Viper to achieve the shade I really wanted Viper to be.

Love bug

Ultra Matte Lip in Mama, $6.00

I love this color! I don’t normally wear orange shades, but this one just works for me! It is still a little bright, but I can work with it! I’ll definitely wear this shade throughout the fall and on sunny winter days! This shade will actually end up being worn year round. LOL!

Have you tried any of these shades? If so, which is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask Review

Last summer, I had read about this Bite Beauty lip mask on another blog. I wrote it down on a list of products I wanted to try. I have finally purchased it from Sephora and am kicking myself for waiting so long! I am in LOVE! I am always excited about trying new lip moisturizers, but I couldn’t see myself paying $26 for one. But, I have dropped the $26 and do not regret it!

I purchased the lip mask in “natural.” It contains a “bio-active blend of organic agave nectar, jojoba oil, vanilla CO2 extract, and triple amount of antioxidant trans-reserveratrol found in red wine.” In other words, this product is amazing! The natural oils help make this product moisturize your lips for hours on end! The consistency is much thicker than a petroleum based product, as this product does not contain petroleum or gluten. It’s thick without being sticky, a plus in my book because I hate sticky lip products! I will definitely continue to use this before bed and under my lipsticks that have a very matte formula. I expect this product to last me quite a few months since a little goes a lonnngggg way!

It may be a little difficult to get the product out of the tube due to it’s waxy consistency. However, if this happens, just hold the tube in your hand to warm it up some. This will melt the product which will help make it come out of the tube a little easier.

Have you tried this lip mask? Let me know what you thought about it in the comments!

Lip Monthly Review + Swatches | February 2016

This month was my make or break month for Lip Monthly. I was not too satisfied with the products I received in my first two bags. Click here for my December bag and here for my January bag. The total value of this bag was $43.00, which isn’t bad since the bag is only $12.95 a month. I was really hoping that this month would be better, so let’s see what I received.

Seraphine Botanicals Vegan Berry Tint in Cherry Cream, $18.00
This was my favorite product in this bag and actually the only product I liked! I love the rich pigment of the lip color! You really do not need to apply a lot of product to get this pigment. It is a liquid to matte formula that doesn’t leave your lips extremely dry. My lips felt pretty moisturized for a good while.

Prim Botanicals Lip & Cheek Glow, $22.00

These lip tints were okay. I probably won’t wear them ever because I like a little more pigment on my lip colors. But, the formula was surprisingly very creamy. I was thinking it would be difficult to remove the product from the case, but it wasn’t. It applied very smooth and had a lot of moisture to it.

NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Creamy Caramel #440, $1.99
If you have been following my blog, you know how I feel about nude lips. Also, if you saw my review of my Lip Monthly bag last month, then you know even more about how I feel. This color is no exception. I HATE it! My lips look ashy and my face looks washed out. I will NEVER wear this color…ever! Lol!

Harvey Prince Organics Sincerely Body Cream, $24.00 I received a Harvey Prince body cream in an Ipsy bag a couple of months ago and ever since, I have been a huge fan of their products. They are extremely moisturizing and smell delicious! I definitely keep these sample size bottles in my purse and on my desk at work.

Overall, I was very disappointed in not only this bag, but the last two I have received. Because of that, I have unsubscribed from Lip Monthly. No worries, I subscribed to another beauty subscription and I can’t wait to show you all next month which one it is!

How did you feel about the products I received this month? Let me know in the comments!

My Lip Regime

So, I am absolutely crazy about my lips. My lips are my favorite feature on my face. With that said, that means I must take great care of my lips. I am so crazy about my lips that I have about four products that I put on my lips BEFORE applying lipstick. Below I have outlined the products and my process. Enjoy! 🙂

First, I outline the area outside of my natural lip line using the e.l.f. Lip Lock Pencil. I use this to keep my lipstick from feathering or budging outside of my lip line. It sells for $3 on e.l.f.’s website.

Second, I line and fill in my lips using the No Bleeding Lips Secret Lip Liner. It is an invisible liner which I prefer to use as my daily lip liner because I don’t have to worry about finding a lip liner that complements the lip color I am wearing that day. It sells for $15 on Sephora’s website.

Next, I prime my lips using Aquaphor (sold at any drugstore or grocery store and sells for approximately $4) and MAC Prep + Prime Lip, $16.50 on MAC’s website. I probably don’t have to use both, but I started and I just can’t stop. lol! I use both of these to moisturize my lips before applying my lipstick, no matter what kind of lipstick I am using. I do this because my lips dry out really easily, which is even more of a problem when wearing lipstick.

Lastly, I apply my lip color of the day and GO! Easy peasy!

What is your routine for applying your lipsticks and glosses? What products do you use? Let me know in the comments!
