Festive Christmas Nails

Merry Christmas Eve!!!! I have been waiting for this week to come so that I could really get in the Christmas spirit with my nail polish! When I think Christmas, I think about red, green, and gold. So, I decided to paint my nails red and gold for the weekend! For my red polish, I used Orly in Star Spangled. It is a red polish with red micro glitter sparkles! Super shimmery which I love! On my two accent nails, I used Julep in Margot as my base gold polish. It is a micro gold glitter polish. I provided a full review of this polish here. I then topped my Julep polish with Nails, Inc. in Snowglobe. This is a gold glitter polish suspended in clear polish. I did a full review of this polish as well. Click here to read more about it. The colors are so beautiful together and now my nails look so festive and I am fully ready to celebrate the holidays now! Check out my nails below!

Nails of the Week

This week I decided to paint my nails using Nails, Inc. Gel Effect polish in Grosvenor Crescent and Nails, Inc. polish in Snowglobe on my accent nail. Both sell for $15 at Sephora. I also finished with the Nails, Inc. 45 Second Top Coat with Kensington Caviar, also $15. Check out my review of this top coat here.

Grosvenor Crescent is described as an aubergine (eggplant) color on the website. This is the best description for the color because it is a very deep purple. So deep that it almost looks black! The polish applies like a gel polish and dries with a wet look. What I like about the gel effect polish is that you do not have to cure it with a UV lamp the way you would with a regular gel polish.

Snowglobe was just released a couple of weeks ago. When I saw it was released, I went straight to Sephora’s website and purchased it! The website describes it as “a customizable, snow globe-like nail polish with a shimmering, gold glitter finish.” I was so excited when I got it because it really is like a snow globe! The glitter sits at the bottom until you shake it up. Depending on how hard you shake it will determine how much glitter is floating around in the bottle, therefore, determining how much is on the brush while applying the polish to your nails. How cool is that!?!

Below, I have provided a couple of pictures of the polishes on my nails. Unfortunately, I could not get a good picture to really show how beautiful the polishes are. But, they will do. I am still trying to determine whether or not I want to paint all of my nails with the Snowglobe polish or just leave it on my accent nails.

Should I cover all of my nails with the Snowglobe polish or just leave it on my accent nails? Let me know in the comments!

I am so thankful for the love and support I have received from all of my followers in the short time I have been blogging! Y’all are AWESOME! I look forward to continuing to grow with you all and bring honest product reviews of some of the best, worst, underrated, and overrated products on the market!

I can’t wait to make my purchases…even though I just stocked up on quite a bit over the weekend. SMH! But, who cares!?! Anyway, check out what I plan to stock up on below!

Nail Polish, Setting Powder, Eyeliner, Lip Balm Anyone?

I have a problem. I am addicted to Sephora. I placed two separate orders on their website two days in a row. Smh! But, I stocked up on some pretty awesome products! See what they are below! 🙂

*Click on each photo to go to the product page*
Smith’s Rosebud Salve, $6

This lip balm is AMAZE BALLSSSS!!!! It is super moisturizing. It is a long lasting moisturizer and can be used to moisturize your entire body. I just prefer using it on my lips. I’ll definitely be adding this to my collection of lip moisturizers for the winter!

Make Up Forever HD Microfinish Powder, $30 (0.3 oz), $19 (0.14 oz); Sephora Setting Powder Brush, $11
I used my rewards to get the Make Up Forever setting powder. I am not sure I am a fan of it. I have never used a setting powder before, but it made my skin really dry and left a ghostly glow to my skin. No matter how little I used, I still had an ashy look to my skin, which was only noticeable when I took a picture with the flash on. But God forbid I wear this in public and someone takes a picture of me with the flash on. How horrible would that be!?! LOL! I may give this setting powder another try…but it will be a while.

The setting powder brush is really awesome. The bristles are very soft and applied the powder very well. The shape and size of the brush allow you to apply bronzers and blushes for a natural looking result. I definitely recommend this brush if you wear bronzers and blushes often…even if you don’t, it’s a good brush to have in your collection.

Marc Jacobs Marc’er Precision Pen Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner  in Blacquer, $30

OMG! Am I glad I chose this as my free gift with my purchase or what!?! This eyeliner is perfect! It is a super glossy back and application is flawless. The fine pen tip allowed for the perfect line and made winging the eyeliner super easy. I have been a die hard fan for MAC ProLongwear Eyeliner…but for just a few dollars more, I may have to upgrade my life to this eyeliner! It was just that amazing!

Nails, Inc. Nail Polish in London Lane, Sold out
Ever since I started using the Nails, Inc. 45 Second Top Coat, I have been in love with Nails, Inc. polishes. Unfortunately this polish is sold out now and I am unsure whether or not it will be restocked…but, I love the blue flakes suspended in a clear polish. I applied it on an accent nail (pictured) on top of a gray nail polish and I received so many compliments (don’t mind the bottle of SquareHue polish, it’s just the only picture I had showing the Nails, Inc. polish. lol!) Hopefully it will be restocked and if not, I will work on finding a dupe of this polish that will give you a similar effect.

Formula X Nail Polish in Sage Green, Sold out

I am a fan of Sephora’s Formula X collection for the variety of colors. I am not a fan of the quality. The polish chips after two days or so…which is a bummer. So, I only buy this brand when it is on sale. Lol! Okay, on to the polish at hand. Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to paint my nails with this particular polish. I’m hoping I can get around to painting my nails tonight if I have some free time (be on the lookout on my Instagram for a picture). Anywho, I’m a little on the fence about this color. I was thinking that it would be a little darker based on the photos on the website, but looking at the bottle it seems pretty light. Maybe it will apply darker when I paint my nails. Let’s keep our fingers crossed about that! Unfortunately, this color is sold out, but if you click on the picture, you can see all of the other amazing colors Sephora has to offer!

Update: I got around to painting my nails. The color came out the way I expected it to, which I was pleased with. But, like I stated, it chipped within two days…even though that could possibly be attributed to me washing my hair. Either way, I’ll be repainting my nails this weekend.

Have you tried any of these products or do you plan to? I’d love to know!

Top Coat, Concealer, and Lippie Review

I took a little trip to Sephora with my mind set on buying only a top coat and concealer. That’s it. The good news is that I bought those two items…the not so good news is I came out with a new lipstick and a GORGEOUS eyelash curler and mascara set. Get into my purchases now!

*Click on each photo to go to the product page.*

tarte Eyelash Curler and Mascara, $20

I didn’t need an eyelash curler or another mascara, butttttt when I saw this stunning curler, I just COULD NOT resist!!! It caught my eye and for 20 bucks for both, why not? The mascara is good, not great. It separated and lengthened my lashes and I ended up with a nice bright, wide-eyed look. This is the perfect mascara for a casual outing. I probably wouldn’t wear it for a night out. I haven’t used an eyelash curler in soooo long, but I definitely noticed a difference in my eyelashes after using it. I’ll definitely be using this more often. This stunning duo is a limited edition item at Sephora, so get it now before it’s too late!!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Amande, $29

One of my best friends recommended this concealer to me, so I thought I would try it and am I glad I did! This concealer sets on its own, it doesn’t crease, and it blends perfectly! The doe foot wand makes application easy. Definitely recommend this concealer! It comes in 10 shades so you really shouldn’t have a problem finding the perfect shade for your skin tone.

Nails, Inc. 45 Second Top Coat, $15

Before trying this product, I was using the Sally Hansen Fast Dry Top Coat in the red bottle. I thought it was an awesome product. My nails would be completely dry within 7 minutes or so. However, the shine wouldn’t last as long, but I kept using it because it was the quickest drying top coat and it was cheap. BUT, today, I came across this top coat and I will NEVER go back to the Sally Hansen one. Like the product advertises, my nails were dry to the touch in 45 seconds and COMPLETELY dry in 3 minutes and the shine is super glossy. No smudging from pressing my nails against something too long. No polish being pushed back at the tips from trying to pop the top off of something. Nothing! This top coat is a little pricey, but it is worth the splurge!

Bite Beauty Creme Lipstick Duo in Scarlet/Mulberry, $14

Left: Mulberry; Bottom right: Scarlet

This duo is AMAZING!!! The formula is super moisturizing! However, the color does fade after eating or drinking. The color payoff is opaque after two coats. Scarlet is my favorite. It is a dark blood red. Mulberry is also a beautiful wine color. This duo is perfect for mixing the two colors together or wearing them individually. The lipsticks are kind of small…so I’m sure I will get through these pretty quickly, as I intend for these to be my go to colors. This is another limited edition product, so make sure you get it before the holidays end!

Which of these products have you tried or will you be trying? Oh, and look for one of these products in a future giveaway!!
