Valentine’s Day is Upon Us. What Nail Polish Will You Wear?

Valentine’s Day is almost here! Not that I need an excuse to wear red, but now is the time where I really feel like I should wear as much red as I can get away with! It is all about love this weekend right? Even though this holiday is all about reds and pinks, I think for a different look, you can incorporate purple polish for the day as well! So, let’s see what red, pink, and purple nail polishes I would recommend to celebrate your holiday with!

Damsel by Julie G Nail Color, $3.99  I actually completely forgot that I had this color in my collection until I started for polishes for this post. But, once I came across it, I remembered how amazing the color is! It is such a pretty pink. It’s not too light and not too dark. Also, the quality is superb. From what I could remember, the polish lasted for at least 5 days without really chipping. Awesome quality for such a cheap price!

Star Spangled by Orly, $5.50  This has always been one of my favorite red polishes. I love that it has a deep red base with red glitter suspended in it. It wears well and is perfect if you are going out for a party this weekend!

Julep by Julep, $14.00

This color was the Julep’s Color of the Year last year. It is an orchid shade and absolutely stunning once applied. I think this shade of purple would be perfect if you would like to go outside of then norm of red and pink nail polishes.

Big Apple Red by O.P.I., $6.25
Now this color is the epitome of Valentine’s Day. This polish is a true red. It is a creme formula and applies very smoothly.

What color polish will you wear for Valentine’s Day? Let me know in the comments.

Nails of the Week | OPI Pedal Faster Suzi!

For Christmas, one of my friends purchased two OPI nail polish gift sets from Ulta for me. I believe they were a Black Friday deal, so they are no longer available on the site. Although, I did see a few other gift sets with mini polishes, like this one. But, back to the sets I received! Each set has three mini polishes in it. One set is called “The Reds Have It” which features three different shades of red. The other set is called “Feeling Berry Fine,” which features shades in the pink/purple range.

This week, I decided to go with a polish from the “Feeling Berry Fine” collection. The color I chose is “Pedal Faster Suzi!” It is a pinkish shimmer. I am not a big fan of light pink nail polishes, but I thought I would try this one out. I thought it might surprise me and turn out to be a little darker. It’s, in fact, still very light and actually pretty sheer. I had to apply three coats to get an opacity that I could be satisfied with for a few days. I will be changing this polish before I head off to Vegas later this week! I’ll need something with a little more vibrancy to it for that trip! Stay tuned for that! Anyway, check out the polish below and let me know what you think!

Nails of the Week

Last week, before Christmas, I had a hard time deciding on what color polish to wear on my nails in the days leading up to Christmas.  I settled on this deeper, frosty plum color by OPI. The color is OPI Scores a Goal. I like the shade. I am not in love with it. But, it got the job done for the few days I wore it. OPI polishes are pretty good. You can wear them for a few days with very minimal chipping. After 5 days of wear, there was fading at the tip of most of my nails and one nail had chipped at the tip. Not too bad in my opinion. Anyway, get into the picture of my nails below.

What is your favorite OPI nail polish? Let me know in the comments!

Glitter Nail Polish Removed in a Flash!

Glitter polish is totally on trend now. It’s fun. It’s sparkly. It’s a party on your fingers…until it’s time to remove it. Nothing is more painful than trying to remove glitter nail polish. Nothing. However, I’ve come across two products that will cut your removal process in half! Check them out below!

*Click on each picture to go to the product website*

Sephora Collection Instant Nail Polish Remover for Glitter, $9.50

This is the best nail polish remover that I’ve come across to remove glitter polish. You can stick your fingers inside one at a time and rub them up and down against the brillo like pad on the inside, or you can remove the pad from the container and use it like a cotton ball. It’s much more convenient this way, in my opinion. This product makes taking off glitter polish as easy as removing regular polish with an acetone, or non-acetone, soaked cotton ball. So, if you are a glitter polish lover, but have been turned off because of the extra work it takes to remove it, fret no more, this is the life saver you have been searching for!

OPI Glitter Off Peel-able Base Coat, $7.25
This base coat allows you to not even need a polish remover. You apply a thin layer of the polish to your nails. Wait for it to dry completely and then apply your favorite glitter nail polish. When you are ready to remove it, you can peel it off from base to tip with your fingernails or by using a cuticle stick. It peels right off just like a sticker. The only downfall is that I would only recommend using this base coat if you are painting your nails for a special occasion because this base makes it very easy for the polish to peel off completely. You will look down at your hand and one of your nails will be entirely bare and that’s no fun!

Will you return to your beloved glitter polish now that you have a hassle free way to remove it? Let me know!
