Morning Beauty Products

We all have products that we use on a daily basis. These are the products that, no matter the situation, we will probably never stop using. These products are tried and true and because of that, they have found a permanent spot in the products we use every single day.

So, let’s talk about my daily products. These are the products I use Monday through Friday for work. I usually switch up on the weekends or if I am going out at night. However, the first two products NEVER change! Alright, let’s see what products I swear by!

Aquaphor

I use Aquaphor to moisturize my face every single day and have used this for years. Growing up, I used Vaseline. I do not like using a bunch of different products on my face since my skin is so sensitive. I literally wash my face with water, dry it, and then apply Aquaphor. People always ask me what I put on my face to keep my skin so clear and they are always surprised when I tell them these two simple things. Lol! Once a week, I will exfoliate my face with Vasanti BrightenUp! Face Rejuvenator ($34). I reviewed it here. This product does not irritate my skin and it works wonders.

Aquaphor can be purchased at your local drugstore, WalMart, Target, etc. for less than $7.

Cocoa Butter

Okay, so after I moisturize my face, I moisturize the rest of my body with Vaseline Cocoa Butter lotion. My skin is on the dry side, so this lotion keeps my skin feeling soft and smooth to the touch. This lotion can be purchased for less than $5 at your local drugstore, WalMart, Target, etc.

Eye Makeup

For my eyes, I use Julep’s When Pencil Met Gel Long-Lasting Eyeliner ($16) in Blackest Black. I consider this a daily eyeliner because it doesn’t have a wet look to it when it dries and it’s easier and quicker to apply than my felt tip liners that I use on the weekends and when I’m going out.

For my eyebrows, I like to use Ofra Cosmetics Universal Eyebrow Pencil ($13). It’s super easy to apply and blend. The more pencil you use to fill it in, the darker the color gets, which makes it work for any brow color. Click here for my review of the brow pencil.

Lipstick

My lipstick color varies daily depending on my mood and the color of the clothing I’m wearing that day. However, the brand I have been wearing pretty much everyday for the past 2 months is ColourPop. As you will see from my future blog posts (and a few past posts), I am OBSESSED with their products! They are cheap, but QUALITY products!

What Are My Top Three Lip Exfoliators?

If you wear lipstick often then you know how imperative it is to keep your lips exfoliated. I you don’t, you may end up with unevenly applied lipstick. Or if you wear lipstick often, you may have to keep them exfoliated because your lips may peel more than if you don’t wear lipstick often. So, to get an even application and to help lock in moisture, you will need to exfoliate. In this post, I am going to give you my top three lip exfoliators from Mary Kay, e.l.f Cosmetics, and MBA Cosmetics.

Satin Lips Lip Mask by Mary Kay, $10

The first lip exfoliator I ever used was the Satin Lips Exfoliator by Mary Kay. I actually still use it from time to time. This one comes in a tube that you squeeze onto your lips, rub your lips together, let it sit for a couple of minutes, then wipe it off with a tissue. I really enjoy this exfoliator and I think it works the best out of the three because it has the longest lasting results. For me, that is about 4-5 days after daily lipstick wear. You can also purchase this product in a set with the lip balm for $18. I am not a fan of the lip balm because, in my opinion, it is not moisturizing at all. It disappears from my lips within minutes. Click here to purchase the set.

Sweet Kisses Lip Scrub in Pink Sugar Rush, $3.50

This is the second exfoliator I started using. It is a sugar scrub and it’s so sweet that I can barely keep it on my lips long enough to remove the dry skin. This lip scrub comes in a small jar. You have to apply the product with your fingertip. I rub it across my lips, let it sit for a minute and then wipe it off with my tissue. I do not use this one very often because I do not think it works that well. But, for $3.50, I can’t really complain and the taste is pretty awesome! It also comes in several other flavors!

e.l.f. Cosmetics Lip Exfoliator, $3

So, what I LOVE about this exfoliator is that it comes in a traditional lipstick tube and you apply it just like you would a regular lipstick. To apply, you have to dampen your lips, massage the product in in a circular motion, and then remove it with a damp cotton ball/pad or tissue. This product works pretty well. The results are not as long lasting as Satin Lips, but it’s good for when you are on the run.

My Lip Regime

So, I am absolutely crazy about my lips. My lips are my favorite feature on my face. With that said, that means I must take great care of my lips. I am so crazy about my lips that I have about four products that I put on my lips BEFORE applying lipstick. Below I have outlined the products and my process. Enjoy! 🙂

First, I outline the area outside of my natural lip line using the e.l.f. Lip Lock Pencil. I use this to keep my lipstick from feathering or budging outside of my lip line. It sells for $3 on e.l.f.’s website.

Second, I line and fill in my lips using the No Bleeding Lips Secret Lip Liner. It is an invisible liner which I prefer to use as my daily lip liner because I don’t have to worry about finding a lip liner that complements the lip color I am wearing that day. It sells for $15 on Sephora’s website.

Next, I prime my lips using Aquaphor (sold at any drugstore or grocery store and sells for approximately $4) and MAC Prep + Prime Lip, $16.50 on MAC’s website. I probably don’t have to use both, but I started and I just can’t stop. lol! I use both of these to moisturize my lips before applying my lipstick, no matter what kind of lipstick I am using. I do this because my lips dry out really easily, which is even more of a problem when wearing lipstick.

Lastly, I apply my lip color of the day and GO! Easy peasy!

What Are My New Beauty Faves?

Welcome to the first edition of my monthly favorite beauty products! I will do a post at the beginning of every month with a list of at least 5 new beauty products that I started using the previous month and fell in love with. Some of the products may have been previously reviewed on my blog throughout the month, so this can ensure you did not overlook any amazing products! I also think this is a cool way to introduce you to some products that you have never used or heard of, used and forgot about, or see that we have something in common because you use the same products as me! And there’s nothing better than that! So, without further ado, let’s start this list!

MAKE Face Gloss, $25

I have been raving about this product on my Instagram page and my blog since I was introduced to it in my November Birchbox. This product is so amazing! It is marketed as a highlighter. However, I use it as an all over face moisturizer and it really helps to keep my dry skin feeling fresh and moisturized. Click here to read an in depth review of this product.

Benefit Gimme Brow, $24

So, this product I have been sleeping on. It came as an added sample to a Sephora purchase a few months ago. I tried it once and never went back to use it until recently. I love how this product fills my brows in and makes them appear thicker. Click here to read my full review of this product.

Smith’s Rosebud Salve, $6

I use this as a lip balm and I love it. It keeps my lips moisturized for a good amount of time and I appreciate that. It can also be used as an all over body moisturizer…I haven’t used it for that purpose though. Click here to read my full review.

MBA Cosmetics Luxury Matte Lipstick in Salsa, $9.50

If you love a good red lip that is also matte, this is the one for you! It is a matte formula that is not in the least bit drying. It is also a true red. There’s no better combination for a lipstick than this. To read my full review of this lippie, click here.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Amande, $29

I do not wear concealer very often. Honestly, I only wear it when I know I will be taking pictures for something special or going out for a special event. That’s neither here nor there though. I absolutely love this concealer. The liquid formula and the doe foot wand make application very easy. The liquid formula is also very blendable. I use a knockoff of a beauty blender to accomplish this. Head over to this page to read my full review.

What are some new beauty products that you started using last month? I’d love to know in the comments! 🙂
