SquareHue Time! | February 2016

Well, it’s that time of the month again! SquareHue TIME! I am always super excited to receive this box because I LOOOOVEEEE nail polish! This month’s theme is Bike Amsterdam. Based off of that theme, I assumed that the colors would be related to nature in a sense, such as greens, blues, maybe a chrome to represent the metal on a bike. I was somewhat right in my guesses for the polishes this month.

The three colors I received this month are Waterland District, Vondelpark, and The Nieuwmarkt. I was disappointed to receive Waterland District in this box because it is another shade of baby blue and is very similar to a color I received in my box last month. I was hoping that they would change it up this year and not repeat similar colors. Anyway, the difference between the color this month and last month is that this color is more of a sky blue and it is a high gloss creme, whereas, the color last month was a baby blue and frosted. I really loved the color Vonderlpark because it is purple and I always love purple nail polishes! It is a deep, eggplant shade! I will definitely be wearing this color before the end of the month! The last color is called The Nieuwmarkt. It is a red polish with pinkish shimmer in it. Valentine’s Day is this weekend and this color may just be the perfect shade for the weekend! We shall see!

Nails of the Week

Last week, before Christmas, I had a hard time deciding on what color polish to wear on my nails in the days leading up to Christmas.  I settled on this deeper, frosty plum color by OPI. The color is OPI Scores a Goal. I like the shade. I am not in love with it. But, it got the job done for the few days I wore it. OPI polishes are pretty good. You can wear them for a few days with very minimal chipping. After 5 days of wear, there was fading at the tip of most of my nails and one nail had chipped at the tip. Not too bad in my opinion. Anyway, get into the picture of my nails below.

What is your favorite OPI nail polish? Let me know in the comments!

What Polishes Were in My SquareHue Subscription Box This Month??

I am writing this post super excited because it is about my absolute favorite subscription box, SquareHue!!!! SquareHue is a nail polish subscription where you can receive either 3 full size polishes a month or 2, depending on your preference. Every month, I am pleasantly surprised with the color variety that is always spot on with the theme of the year/month. With every subscription, a portion of the proceeds are contributed to prevention awareness. The current focus is human trafficking. Click here to find out more about the A21 Campaign against human trafficking. This contribution to an issue that affects millions of people is even more of a reason to subscribe!

So, about the polish you receive, they are some of the best quality that I have ever used in my entire life! They are extremely durable and long lasting! I usually wear the polish for at least 5 days and it has never chipped! They are formulated with a 7 free clean formula (Does not contain Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resins, Toluene, DBP, Camphor, Ethyl Tosylamide or Xylene), vegan, not made in the US, and not tested on animals.

The overall theme this year has been the Decades Collection. This month closed out the Decades Collection with the 2010 collection and it is amazing! The three colors I received are Bird Fling 2010, Baby, Baby, Baby 2010, and Olympiad 2010. Bird Fling is a beautiful true red. It will be perfect for Christmas! Baby, Baby, Baby 2010 is a shimmery royal purple. Olympiad is a foil gold color. It’s a very light metallic gold. I am most looking forward to rocking Baby, Baby, Baby because I love a good purple nail polish!

With that, the Decades Collection has been very good to me this year. I have loved 95% of the polishes I have received. I can’t wait for the Adventures Collection beginning January 2016! I think it’s going to be an awesome trip! Oh and if you subscribe before December 15, you can get a free Christmas box using the code XMAS2015! What are you waiting for!?! Click here to subscribe to your own SquareHue box.

My Beauty Addiction Fall Lippie Review + Swatches!!

Earlier this year, I was introduced to the wonder that is My Beauty Addiction (MBA). They sell a variety of beauty products, such as lipsticks, lip glazes, lip scrubs, eyeshadows, lashes, make up brushes. You name it, they more than likely sell it! I am a HUGE fan of all of their lipsticks. The quality is amazing, the color selection is vast, and the prices are super affordable! Also, it’s a huge bonus that their products are handmade and they even offer samples of their lippies and eyeshadows. So, what’s not to love! They also sell other brands on their site, such as LA Girl Cosmetics. Get into my most recent lipstick purchase below!

*Click on the pictures to be taken to the product page.*

LA Girl Matte Velvet Lipstick in Relentless, $4.00
This is the second LA Girl lippie I have purchased from MBA. The color is really pretty. However, I think it takes quite a few layers to get the opacity that I prefer. Also, this product really doesn’t have much staying power. It lasts for a couple of hours before it starts to fade…that’s without eating or drinking. So, I would really only recommend wearing this if you are just running out to the grocery store or something quick.

MBA Luxury Matte Lipstick in Salsa, $9.50
OMG this color is EVERYTHING! Salsa is a warm red; the perfect red, fall lipstick. The color payoff is amazing! Although this is a matte formula, it is actually very moisturizing in comparison to other matte formulas. It glides on very smooth and isn’t patchy once applied to the lips. Definitely another go to red for me! I highly recommend this lipstick to anybody looking for the perfect go to red!

MBA Color Rich Lipstick in Violetta, $5.50
I am a huge fan of the color rich lipsticks and have been since I first started purchasing from MBA. This is the first time I purchased lipstick from MBA in the jar formula. Normally I purchase their lipstick in the tube. However, I wanted to try the jars because the color payoff is a little richer when I apply from the jar versus the tube. But, that is just my opinion. Anyway, Violetta is the perfect shade of purple for an evening out when you are not trying to be super bold with your lips. It is described as “a deep, red purple with a shimmer” on the website and that is the perfect description for the color.

MBA Sugar Babies Jojoba Lip Glaze in Brown Sugar, $5.50

This is my first time trying the lip glazes and I am trying to figure out why I have waited so long. I am usually not a huge fan of super glossy lipsticks, so maybe that’s why I never tried it. However, this formula is glossy, but it’s not extremely shiny. It’s moisturizing and it isn’t sticky. An added bonus, it tastes like sugar! YUM! The only issue you will run into with this lip glaze is trying not to lick it off your lips!

Which of these lippies will you be trying out?
